Membership Matters

Lacrosse playerOur student-athletes wear the Vanderbilt black and gold with pride, knowing how hard they have worked to get here and how hard they have to work each day to preserve Vanderbilt’s great traditions. The National Commodore Club provides essential funding that supports our student-athletes as they pursue a world-class education and compete for championships at the highest level of college athletics. Now more than ever, they need your support to continue to reach their ambitious goals.

Annual membership in the National Commodore Club begins with a gift of as little as $100 annually. Membership must be paid in full by May 31, 2012, to be eligible for benefits including football and basketball parking and ticket priority for the 2012-13 seasons. Generous annual gifts from Vanderbilt alumni, parents and fans support scholarships and provide critical program support for our teams. By making an annual gift to the National Commodore Club, you can take great pride in knowing that wherever you are, your gift makes an impact on the lives of Vanderbilt student-athletes.

Support Vanderbilt Athletics facilities improvements

Construction continues on the Vanderbilt Athletics facilities improvements which will benefit both Vanderbilt student-athletes and supporters for years to come. Projects include upgrades to Vanderbilt Stadium, Memorial Gymnasium, Hawkins Field and the McGugin Center, along with construction of the new Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame—a total investment of more than $50 million.

To attract top recruits and stay competitive in the Southeastern Conference, Vanderbilt must offer world-class facilities to rival even our biggest SEC adversaries. Your gift to the facilities capital campaign will help make these remarkable improvements possible. Contact the NCC office today to find out how you can support these important facilities.

Help increase Vanderbilt’s athletics scholarship endowment

Funding the academic scholarships available to student-athletes is one of the main financial responsibilities of Vanderbilt Athletics—and we seek to endow more of these scholarships with a $25 million goal in gifts and pledges for scholarship endowment. Endowment gifts and pledges can be made in a variety of ways and pledged over a period of up to five years.

  • A gift of $900,000 will endow a full athletics grant-in-aid scholarship
  • A gift of $600,000 will endow a full tuition athletics scholarship
  • A gift of $300,000 will endow a partial athletics scholarship
  • A gift of $100,000 will endow a Black and Gold Society scholarship

Contact the NCC office to find out more about supporting the athletics scholarship endowment.

  • "Coming from California, Vanderbilt became my new home. With the opportunity to compete at the highest level of academics and basketball, I have learned that I represent something bigger than myself. I will forever be a part of the Vanderbilt family, and I know my family at home will be very proud once I receive my degree.” —Jasmine Lister,
    Women’s Basketball

  • “Vanderbilt gives me choices like no other school. I can earn a prestigious degree, compete in the SEC and play in front of thousands of great fans. I can't imagine being anywhere else.” —Rod Odom,
    Men’s Basketball

  • "The opportunity to be a student-athlete and get an education at Vanderbilt University has developed my mind more than anything else. I've learned that discipline and work ethic, among other things, allow you to break past the barriers that your body and mind have created to become the best you can be athletically and academically. I am blessed to be a Vanderbilt Commodore.” —Tyler Beede,
