Volunteers needed for Sept. 30 disaster drill
8/25/2008
1:43 pm
75 Volunteers are needed for a disaster drill to test the revisions to the VUMC Decontamination Plan. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate.
When: Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008
Time: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Drill Specifics: This disaster drill is designed to test the VUMC Decontamination sub plan. Volunteers are needed to act in the roles of faculty/staff members (i.e., MDs, RNs, mock patients and labor pool personnel). Volunteers will be given actual assignments to assist with the drill or they will be required to go through the decontamination shower if they choose to act in the role of a "mock" patient.
Volunteer Registration: You may register to be a drill volunteer by completing a registration form and waiver. The registration form and waiver are located at www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/ep. Click on the link located on the right-hand side of the Web page (be sure to select the correct link). You can also e-mail completed forms to mandy.creech@vanderbilt.edu or fax the forms to 936-2950.
Drill Meeting Information: A pre-drill walkthrough will take place on Monday, Sept. 29, from 2:30-4 p.m.in Light Hall Room 208 and some volunteers may be required to attend this meeting. More details will follow.
Additional Information: Dinner will be provided before the drill begins at 5 p.m. and there will be a prize drawing at the debriefing immediately following the drill for all drill participants who attend the debriefing.
We ask that you support this important training opportunity by encouraging faculty/staff/student participation. If you are an hourly (non-exempt) staff member, you must check with your supervisor. If your supervisor agrees to allow you to participate in the drill, you will be compensated.
On behalf of the VUMC Disaster Committee, thank you!
