Vanderbilt Community members interested in the much-awaited Apple iPhone 3G can synch their VU Exchange e-mail, contacts and calendar with the device and obtain a discount on their service plan through AT&T.
 
Apple launched their new iPhone July 11, and sold more than 1,000,000 in the first three days despite a now-resolved activation glitch.  The phone retails for $199 for the 8 GB model and $299 for the 16 GB model.
 
The new iPhone 3G features access to a faster wireless network and support for Exchange ActiveSync so the phone can be synched directly with an Exchange server.
 
Instructions for synching the 3G with Vanderbilt Exchange servers are available through Vanderbilt Information Technology Services (ITS) at http://its.vanderbilt.edu/vuexchange/iphone.php. If you need assistance, check with your local technology support provider or call the Vanderbilt ITS Help Desk at 615-343-9999.
