The Commons wins facility design award

The Commons Center has been award a Facility Design of Excellence Award by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI).

The awards were created by the ACUI to encourage excellence in the design of student-centered facilities that support campus community building and student learning.

The jury for the award was appointed by the ACUI president and consisted of professionals from around the world.  The project was not judged in competition of other entries, but on the basis of the solution of the problem presented and its worthiness for an award for excellence in the category.

The award will be presented to Bruner/Cott and Associates and Vanderbilt University at the annual ACUI conference held in March.

Every year hundreds of projects take place at Universities, this award is great recognition for everyone involved in the design and construction process.

The ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries with a mission to build campus community. ACUI enriches them all through education, advocacy and the delivery of services.
