Professor Arleen Tuchman featured on Foundation website

Arleen Tuchman is a specialist in the history of science and medicine in the United States and Europe. In addition to being a Professor of History at Vanderbilt, Dr. Tuchman served as Director for the Center for Medicine, Health, and Society from 2006-2009.

Recently, Dr. Tuchman was featured in an article on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation website entitled, “Vanderbilt Redefines Pre-Med Education.” In this article, Dr. Tuchman describes the innovative and forward-thinking MHS undergraduate program at Vanderbilt and how the interdisciplinary curriculum characteristic of this program is educating a new generation of future health professionals.

The article also features statements from current MHS students and MHS graduates about the various research projects they have undertaken and how these projects have contributed to the study of medicine and health in the larger social context. Please click on the link above to read the full article.
