Creating a Vanderbilt Home Page
-
Each faculty member and graduate student in our department is required to create a home page using Sitemason, Vanderbilt's supported web authoring tool. This provides a consistent look to all of our faculty, student and staff web pages. Please see instructions for creating your Sitemason home page:
Instructions for faculty and post-docs
Instructions for graduate students and other personnel
-
For making other web pages that link from your main page, you have the following tools and options:
* Use Sitemason (see Creating Sub-Pages in Sitemason).
* Use Word Press, an open source tool that is widely used and supported by Vanderbilt. See http://web.vanderbilt.edu/wordpress-at-vanderbilt and https://my.vanderbilt.edu
* Create secondary web pages with some other tool or in html and host them on the Mathematics Department web server. You will first need to request an account on the Math web server.
- For your course-related pages, we recommend Blackboard. Hour-long instructional tutorials for using Blackboard are offered by the Microcomputer Lab.
