Metered Mail

U.S. mail or any other mailings may be paid by cash, 1180, or a metered mail form. The form should be attached to the mailings at the time the mailing is deposited into the mail system. An example of the metered mail form used in the Rand hall Post office or the Peabody Distribution Center may be seen below:

These forms are completed as follows:

1.         Date                            Date of Service
2.         Department Name      Name of Department
                                               Where mail originates
3.         Requested by              Name of Person preparing mailing
4.         Telephone                    Telephone number of preparer
5.         Room number             Departmental Location
6.         Charge Budget            Departmental account number and object code
7.         Approved by               Person authorizing service and fee
