Mail Preparation Do's and Don't's


DO
  1. Do remember to attach meter mail form
  2. Do face and rubber band bundles of mail to be metered
  3. Do make sure all foreign country addresses are in English
  4. Do make sure all flaps are up on envelopes to be sealed
  5. Do wrap packages correctly
  6. Do cross out bulk mail permit imprint when mailing as a single piece or enclosing in an envelope
  7. Do make sure you are using correct account numbers on the metered mail form
  8. Do face and rubber band handfuls of campus mail separate from other mail
  9. Do put foreign mail on top of  bundled mail to be metered
  10. Do keep a copy of Metered Mail Slips for Department mail.

DON'T
  1. Don’t mix campus with metered mail
  2. Don’t mix foreign metered mail with domestic metered mail
  3. Don’t staple metered mail form to metered mail
  4. Don’t put a metered mail form with every letter to be metered
  5. Don't mix bulkrate mail or prestamped mail with metered mail
  6. Don’t put "Hand cancel" letters in the middle of a bundle of mail to be metered
