Mail Preparation Do's and Don't's
DO
- Do remember to attach meter mail form
- Do face and rubber band bundles of mail to be metered
- Do make sure all foreign country addresses are in English
- Do make sure all flaps are up on envelopes to be sealed
- Do wrap packages correctly
- Do cross out bulk mail permit imprint when mailing as a single piece or enclosing in an envelope
- Do make sure you are using correct account numbers on the metered mail form
- Do face and rubber band handfuls of campus mail separate from other mail
- Do put foreign mail on top of bundled mail to be metered
- Do keep a copy of Metered Mail Slips for Department mail.
DON'T
- Don’t mix campus with metered mail
- Don’t mix foreign metered mail with domestic metered mail
- Don’t staple metered mail form to metered mail
- Don’t put a metered mail form with every letter to be metered
- Don't mix bulkrate mail or prestamped mail with metered mail
- Don’t put "Hand cancel" letters in the middle of a bundle of mail to be metered
