Emeritus Golf Coach Mason Rudolph Dies

Former professional golfer and Vanderbilt coach Mason Rudolph died April 18, 2011. He had been an integral part of the Vanderbilt golf program since 1992, having spent five years as head coach of the men’s program before being named director of golf. In 2002 his title was amended to director of golf, emeritus. The Commodores host an annual fall tournament at the Vanderbilt Legends Club known as the Mason Rudolph Championships.

During his professional career he won five PGA tour events and was a six-time winner of the Tennessee State Open. He was elected as a charter inductee into the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame in 1990 and was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
