In this section we examine a topic that has become the subject of much debate. The question at issue is whether the MCG could in principle indicate different aspects of myocardial electrophysiological activity than the ECG. If the MCG contains information about cardiac sources that is not present in the ECG, the MCG might help us gain new insight about normal or abnormal cardiac function. © 1983 Plenum Publishing Corporation
