Phi Eta Sigma honorary is open to all freshmen who meet the academic qualifications. Students must be registered for a full course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree and must rank in the top 20 percent of their freshman class. The minimum scholastic average required for membership is a 3.5 or above GPA. Eligibility is based on grades from the fall semester of the first year *. A one-time membership fee of $30 is required. The fee covers keys or pins and certificates, with a portion of the money going to the honor society’s scholarship fund.
After the application process, students will be notified of future date and time of initiation. Once initiated the student becomes a lifetime member of Phi Eta Sigma. Members may remain active in the chapter throughout college. Members may remain active in the chapter throughout college. Members hold offices while they are sophomores and will be asked to volunteer some hours of service to volunteer some hours of service to a Phi Eta Sigma campus or community project.
Applicants are required to turn in their application along with their membership fee to Andrea Wall, Leadership Development & Intercultural Affairs at the Sarratt Student Center | Rand Hall room 301. Paper appications can also be found and completed in Sarratt|Rand 301.

*Please note that the Vanderbilt chapters of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma only collect member applications prior to the submission deadline in the spring semester. Qualified individuals who do not submit their completed applications prior to the deadline will not be eligible for membership.
