Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt (apply)In just a couple of hours every third Thursday of the month, the participants in the 2007 Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt (CLV) program met the president of the Frist Museum, assisted the Salvation Army in providing toys to needy children, interacted with the Executive Director of the National Libertarian Party, and more. At the end of the program, the CLV students spent a weekend in D.C. networking with Vanderbilt alumni, congressional staff, and Vanderbilt's Federal Relations Office. The goal of CLV is simple: to help anchor a student’s personal leadership philosophy. The program accomplishes this by: 1. Introducing students to real world leaders from diverse segments of the community: business, religion, art, non-profit, political, etc. 2. Allowing students to hear insights from these leaders and apply them to their everyday leadership roles. 3. Asking students to choose what insights work best for them. 4. So that by the end, CLV students can better articulate their personal definition of leadership to those that choose to follow them and to those who choose to put them in leadership positions.
