Individual Country Studies

The AmericasBarometer, one of the many and growing activities of LAPOP, is the only survey of democratic public opinion and behavior that covers the Americas. It is an effort by LAPOP to measure democratic values and behaviors in the Americas using national probability samples of voting-age adults. In 2008, 24 countries throughout the Americas were again included, and over 36,000 individuals. The third round, 2008, included 24 countries in the Americas. The most recent round of surveys was conducted in 2010, with 26 countries from North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean, adding Trinidad & Tobago as well as Suriname to the 24 countries previously covered, making the AmericasBarometer the most expansive regional survey project in the Western Hemisphere.
