Calendar Services at Vanderbilt

Quick Links: |
For Microsoft Windows based systems, Microsoft's Outlook 2007 is the recommended tool for scheduling appointments, conference rooms, and resources at Vanderbilt. Check with your department's Local Support Provider (LSP) or call the ITS Help Desk at 3-9999 (option 1) for assistance in setting up the Outlook Calendaring tool. While Outlook is also an email client, using Outlook email is NOT REQUIRED to access the calendaring functions. You can continue using your preferred email client.
For Apple Macintosh users, Entourage provides similar calendaring services. Linux and Unix users may consider the open-source Evolution program.
VUcal was a legacy calendaring system phased out during 2007, with final shutdown scheduled for the end of 2007.
As of January 1, 2008, VUcal is no longer available.
While the MS Outlook calendaring service is recommended, there are several other personal and departmental solutions available.
