After you receive a Social Security card:

STUDENTS

  • Please provide a copy of the card to the University Registrar in Suite 110 Baker Building on 21st Ave.
  • Go to 2525 West End Ave. to Update I-9 (HR Employment Service Center)

SCHOLARS

  • Provide a copy to your Department
  • Go to 2525 West End Ave. to Update I-9 (HR Employment Service Center)

 

Directions to the Social Security Administration Office

BY CAR

  • From Vanderbilt, take 21st Avenue south away from downtown.
  • Turn the 2nd left onto Broadway.
  • Turn left at George L Davis Blvd (signs for I-40/I-65).
  • Take the ramp on the left onto I-40 W/I-65 N. Continue to follow I-65 N.
  • Take exit 85 for 8th Ave/US Hwy 41 Alt toward State Capitol/Metro Center Blvd.
  • Turn left at Metrocenter Blvd.
  • Turn right at Athens Way.
  • Social Security is the last building on the right.

  • Take MTA bus # 3 to Downtown, Music City Central 4th – Bay 23 (16 mins, 28 stops) or bus #7 to Downtown, Music City Central 4th – Bay 19
  • Walk to Music City Central 5th – Bay 11 (about 5 mins) and take bus #9 towards Mainstream to Dominican Dr. & French Landing Dr (7 mins, 11 stops)
  • Walk to 120 Athens Way (about 15 mins)
