Check-In
All international students must check-in with ISSS upon arrival at Vanderbilt. To help speed up this process please do the following:
- Bring your I-20 or DS-2019, passport, and I-94. If you have dependents with you, bring their documents also.
- Complete the Contact Information form prior to arriving for check-in. This address should be your current address in the U.S. (temporary addresses such as hotels or hostels are acceptable). Once permanent address has been established please update the form.
ISSS is located in the Student Life Center at 310 25th Avenue South, Suite 103.
NOTE: If you decide not to attend Vanderbilt, you must return the I-20 or DS-2019 to ISSS immediately.
Check-In Hours
July: Monday through Friday 11am or 1pm
August: Monday through Friday 11am, 1pm, or 3pm
If arriving outside of July or August please come to ISSS during walk in hours. Monday through Friday 10am -12pm or 1:30pm – 3:0pm.
Check-in lasts approximately one hour. During this time, you will meet with an ISSS adviser, receive a welcome packet, and gain important information to help in your transition to life at Vanderbilt. You can also find helpful resources on the Life at Vanderbilt page.
Mandatory International Student Orientation
All students are required to attend orientation on Friday, August 16, in the Student Life Center Ballrooms. An Information Fair will be held 9am-10am. Orientation will begin at 10am and conclude by 12pm. Please mark this important event on your schedule now, as presenters will discuss information critical to your stay at Vanderbilt and in the U.S.
