Spring 2013 Timeline

November        Apply for graduation through your Registrar's office. Each school has its own instructions.

December        Visit the Career Center for career and job searching advice

                         Join VUConnect to start connecting with the Alumni Association

January           Request invitation letters from ISSS if you have friends or family coming for graduation

February          Deadline to submit OPT request (if you want to start working in May)

March               Rent regalia and order graduation announcements (deadline to order - April 3rd)

April                 Look ahead to the commencement website for dates and times of graduation week events

                         Be sure to have paid all university fees before May 1.

May 8               The Party, featuring Band X. See more info here.

May 9               Senior Day features a speech by Nobel Prize-Winning author Toni Morrison.

May 10             Commencement Day! Graduates line up for the procession at 8:25am. See complete instructions for commencement here.

Additional Information

*Health Insurance - May graduates enrolled in Koster Student Health Insurance, your health
insurance will go through August 12. This coverage is included in the price of
the spring semester plan. Graduates who will remain in the US for Optional Practical Training and will
not receive insurance through their employers should find individual insurance for
coverage after August.
