December Graduates

Timeline

September        Apply for graduation through your Registrar's office; each school has distinct requirements.

                          Deadline to submit OPT request (if you want to start working in December)

October            Visit the Career Center for career and job searching advice

                          Join VUConnect to start connecting with the Alumni Association

November         You need to cancel your health insurance if you are planning on leaving the United States

                              See below (if not canceled you will be required to pay for spring as well)

December         Congratulations and Celebrations

*There is no commencement ceremony in December, but you may participate in May if you like. If planning on attending the graduation ceremony in May, make sure to order your regalia and annoucements by the first week in April (see May Graduates).

Additional Information

*Health Insurance – December graduates who are enrolled in
the Koster Student Health Insurance and need to terminate the health insurance
for spring semester should contact Kristina Miller, the Vanderbilt Koster
representative.
