Latin American Images Photography Competition Exhibit 2014
Location: Buttrick Hall Atrium

The Latin American Images Photography Competition will feature original photos taken in Latin America by Vanderbilt, students and staff and visiting scholars from various departments. Photographs will be on display throughout International Education Week (November 11-20) in the Buttrick Hall Atrium.  A reception will be held to announce contest prize winners on Wednesday, November 19 at 5pm in the Buttrick Atrium. The Center for Latin American Studies will award cash prizes to first, second and third places entries.

One entry will be accepted per person.  Participants will be asked to submit an 8×10 print in addition to a digital and online submission form.  Further information on Competition rules and requirements please contact Alma Paz-Sanmiguel alma.paz-sanmiguel@vanderbilt.edu


11:00am – 1:00pm – Maymester Fair

Location: Sarratt Promenade

Maymesters for 2015 will be announced on November 11 in the Sarratt Promenade, from 11 am to 1 pm.  The professors conducting each Maymester will there to provide additional information and details. Each Maymester is a 3-credit hour course, often with AXLE credit.  Plan to stop by.

12:30pm – 1:30pm – Teaching English Abroad Panel Discussion
Location: Sarratt 189
Lunch will be provided!

Join us as we discuss our experiences teaching abroad and explore questions regarding the process of finding and getting to the job, negotiating cultural differences, maintaining relationships at home, etc.  Panelists include former participants of Peace Corps, JET, and Fulbright.

4:00pm – 5:00pm – International Experiences World Café
Location: Sarratt 189

International Experiences World Café:  Join the PCC and the Vanderbilt community for an afternoon of refreshments and rich conversation.  Faculty, staff, and students are welcomed to capitalize on the wisdom of their collective experiences by sharing their unique perspectives about international and cross-cultural experiences.
