Season ticket sales continue strong pace NASHVILLE - Season ticket sales for the 2008 Commodore home football schedule continue to show strong results and remain well ahead of projections, Vanderbilt Student Athletics officials said today. Vanderbilt Athletics Ticket Manager Eric Jones said sales of Vanderbilt's six-game home game package continue to remain strong. He said 13,764 season tickets have been sold through Tuesday, July 22, a 24.9 percent increase on total sales of 10,986 through the same date one year ago.

Moore continued Monday as Southeastern Conference head coaches named him preseason first team all-conference. Moore, a virtual unanimous All-SEC selection in 2007 after sharing the conference lead with six interceptions, is the only Commodore named to the coaches' first unit. Senior safety Reshard Langford garnered third team All-SEC recognition in the coaches' ballot. Weathers named to 2008 Olympic team NASHVILLE, Tenn. --Former Vanderbilt All-American Casey Weathers was one of 23 players named to the United States Olympic team today by USA Baseball. The Olympic team will be managed by former major leaguer and New York Mets skipper Davey Johnson and is set to compete in Beijing from August 13-23. Jeffers to join Commodore football team NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Former University of Connecticut starting receiver Terence Jeffers is enrolled in classes at Vanderbilt and will join the Commodore football squad this season, Head Coach Bobby Johnson said today. Jeffers, a 2005 graduate of Berkmar High School near Atlanta, Ga., is ineligible to play until the 2009 season.
