Motown the Musical
TPAC's Polk Theater

TPAC celebrates Motown the Musical with an encore presentation by  David Williams, II  highlighting the history of the music that influenced a city, challenged a nation, and changed the world.  Williams, whose cousin was a founding member of the Commodores, grew up in Detroit a few blocks from Hitsville USA the home of Motown. He was there at the very beginning and his stories of growing up in Detroit in the middle of music history have become a popular, sought-after lecture around Music City.  David will be joined by cast members of the touring production, and you’ll experience why this music was the soundtrack of our country in its day and why it still has so much staying power today.
