City of Songs
TPAC's Polk Theater

Vanderbilt University’s Theatre Department presents City of Songs an original play created by the director and members of the cast, introduces a quirky Albanian American couple--owners of a halal hamburger restaurant in East Nashville--who take the audience along their personal journey into confrontations with labor issues, artistic ambition, asylum and immigration, racial struggle, love, family, and community belonging in contemporary Nashville, all seen through their eyes and the experiences of their children. Through storytelling and music, City of Songs is a comedic but provocative look at what it means to live and work here in Nashville.
