Vanderbilt Homecoming 2012: -€˜Dores Through the Decades
Sunday, Oct. 21, 2 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m.

As our -€˜Dores prepare to take on the UMass Minutemen Saturday, Oct. 27, take a trip through Vandyland past as we celebrate Vanderbilt Homecoming 2012: -€˜Dores Through the Decades!

The festivities kick off Sunday, Oct. 21, with a  volleyball tournament. Participating organizations may enter teams of six to 10 people to compete in a single-elimination bracket. Bump, set, spike, and enjoy refreshments on Magnolia Lawn, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The winning teams will be rewarded with Barnes and Noble gift cards.

Sign up for the American Red Cross  Blood Drive and save three lives! Appointments will take place at Sarratt 216/220 from Monday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to Wednesday, Oct. 24, 4 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering to staff the event, contact Mary Grace Schley atmary.g.schley@vanderbilt.edu.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., all students are welcome to enjoy complimentary pizza and salad and watch the action at  Dinner & Trivia Night on Wednesday, Oct. 24! This event is co-sponsored by Vandy Fanatics and will be the first student-run event in the long-awaited new Rand Lounge. Trivia Time will host Vanderbilt, athletics, and decades-themed trivia. Participating organizations may enter up to two teams with a maximum of eight participants. Free koozies will be given away, Vandy Fanatics will raffle Vanderbilt athletic gear. Prizes for winning teams include tickets for Rites of Spring, Starbucks gift cards, Vanderbilt Tervis Tumblers, and Pinkberry gift cards!

Take a stroll through the decades at the  Block Party on Thursday, Oct. 25! Show off your Vanderbilt spirit from 7-10 pm on Kensington Place (Frat Row) and snag free giveaways of neon sunglasses and Homecoming t-shirts. The night kicks off with a Homecoming Pep Rally featuring appearances by Coach James Franklin, the football team captains, the Spirit of Gold Marching Band, and Cheer Explosion. Enjoy inflatables and free food from SATCO and McDougal-€™s. DJ Tyrus Briggs will be playing music from the 70-€™s, 80-€™s, 90-€™s and today — be sure to stay for a performance by  Hoodie Allen!

The Homecoming Committee will co-sponsor a  Student/Alumni Tailgate on the SLC Lawn with Vandy Fanatics, featuring food from Puckett-€™s Grocery and Restaurant, music from DJ Tyrus Briggs, and tailgating games! The first 200 students will also receive a giveway from Vandy Fanatics!
