Commodore fans,

It’s a HUGE weekend in VU Athletics– we get a sneak peek at

basketball and baseball, plus SEC home games for football and women’s

soccer. Don’t miss out!

This weekend:

Women’s and men’s basketball

Memorial Madness– Thursday, Oct. 14

Memorial Gym. Doors open: 8 p.m.

It’s the first chance to see your 2011-12 Commodores! Celebrate the

official first day of the NCAA hoops season in style with Coach

Balcomb, Coach Stallings and the rest of Commodore Nation.

Look forward to:

-Free admission

-Free gold #3 jerseys for the first 500 students (courtesy of Vandy

Fanatics)

-Meet-and-greet with both teams (in the Practice Gym, beginning at 8 p.m.)

-Dunk contest and three-point contest

-Short scrimmage for the men’s team

…and much more.

Baseball

Black vs. Gold Scrimmage

Thursday, Oct. 14– 6 p.m.

Friday– 6 p.m.

Sunday– 1 p.m.

Hawkins Field

“Next year” begins now– this year’s intrasquad exhibition is the

team’s first Black vs. Gold game following a College World Series

appearance.

Women’s soccer

Friday, Oct. 15– 7 p.m. vs. Georgia

Sunday– 1 p.m. vs. Tennessee

Soccer/Lacrosse Complex

Sunday’s game against the Vols will be nationally televised (CSS), but

there’s nothing like seeing an SEC rivalry in person. Come by the

Stadium and get a free pair of neon Vanderbilt Soccer sunglasses.

Football

Saturday, Oct. 16– 6 p.m. vs. Georgia

On the Horizon:

Friday, Nov. 11

First regular season basketball home games

Women’s basketball vs. Alabama A&M, 6 p.m.

Men’s basketball vs. Oregon, 9 p.m.
