Intramural Registration

Registrations can be completed at the Office of Campus Recreation from 9am – 5 pm Mon. – Fri. All freshmen teams register by residence hall floors (contact RA). For more info call 3-8186.

Vanderbilt Student Recreation Center is currently offering Fitness Orientations to ALL Members on Tuesdays at 3:00 PM in the Student Recreation Fitness Center.

Please email: todd.suttles@vanderbilt.edu 1 week in advance if you plan to attend.

 

This is a FREE service for students, staff, and members. You will learn about the equipment and machines and how to use them as well as information on programs and services offered at the Student Recreation Center

Indoor Cycling Class

Monday & Wednesday Nights – 7:00-8:00 pm SPIN with Johnny

Tuesday and Thursday Mornings – 6:00 – 7:00 am SPIN with Maria

 

Class Policies

1) Each participant must pick up an authorized number located at the Student Recreation Center’s Welcome Center Desk 30 minutes prior class beginning. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

2) Each participant must turn in numbered card to their instructor upon entering the class. It is

recommended that you be present at least 10 minutes before class starts to set up your bike.

3) When all the numbered cards have been handed out at the Welcome Center – the class is full.

There is NO waiting list or signup sheet.

4) No one is allowed to enter class once it has begun.

 

WHAT TO BRING?

1) Towel

2) At least one water bottle (The bikes are equipped with two water bottle holders. NO open containers

are allowed.)

3) Cycling shoes / or regular workout shoes (the bikes are equipped with cycling clips).

First Aid Certification – CPR/First Aid classes will be offered:

Dec. 10, 2011, Jan. 21, 2012 and Feb. 25, 2012

Be sure to register as soon as possible. Class size is limited to 15 participants based on first come, first served and will fill up quickly!

 

Cost: $120 (Payment is due at the time of registration.
(Please make checks payable to Vanderbilt University.)

Aquatics Programs American Red Cross LifeGuard Certification Course

Lifeguard training is a 37-hour course, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR/PR) and AED training. In this course, you will learn about the duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard and how to carry them out in a professional manner. You will also learn a number of lifeguarding skills, such as surveillance techniques, how to use rescue equipment, and how to manage a suspected spinal injury victim.

 

Cost:

$205- Vanderbilt Students and CURRENT Student Recreation Center Members

$240 – Community

 

The cost includes your lifeguard training manual, pocket mask, and your certificate of completion.

Registration: Payment due in full at time of registration. Cash/Check/Money order only (No Credit Cards) Please make checks out to Vanderbilt University. Registration begins October 10, 2011 through December 15, 2011. Registration can be done Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm upstairs in the Student Recreation Center. Class size is limited, based on first come first serve. At this time, class will be limited to 6 participants, with a minimum of 4 participants.

 

Lifeguard classes: December 19, 2011 through December 23, 2011, 9:00AM – 5:00PM.

*You must attend all classes to receive certification. No missed classes will be made up.*

Requirements: To enroll in a Lifeguard Training course, you must be 15 years old and proficient in the front crawl (freestyle), sidestroke, and breaststroke. There will also be a pre-course session, in which you will be required to pass a skills test.
