Intramural Registration
Registrations can be completed at the Office of Campus Recreation from 9 am – 5 pm Mon. – Fri. Each house’s vice president will be responsible for assisting the Office of Campus Recreation in promoting and registering teams for both the Commons sporting events and intramural sports. Smoothie King is now open in the Vanderbilt Student Recreation Center


Vanderbilt University broke ground on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 on a new Multipurpose Field House, additions to the Recreation Center and renovation of recreation fields.

The increase in space will greatly enhance the recreation experience for the university’s students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The entrance to the Recreation Center will move to a temporary location at the front of the center.

Student Recreation Sports Clubs

Designed to serve individual interests in different sports and recreational activities, our Sport Club Program is a place for you to continue playing a favorite sport or learn to play a new one. This program also offers leadership opportunities, including officer positions, creating a club constitution and direct involvement in administration and supervision of the club. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to join one of our many Sport Clubs. You are sure to find a sport you’d like to participate in­– we have 40 different possibilities! Come make some new friends and stay active!

All undergraduate and graduate students officially enrolled at Vanderbilt University are eligible to join a club. All faculty and staff are eligible to join any club. Membership to the Student Recreation Center may be required. There may be certain restrictions from competition by league or association regulations.

Common Sport Trophy

Take advantage of the opportunity to compete with your peers and enjoy the fellowship, competition, and fun that sports provide.

In addition to Commons sporting events, all residents are strongly encouraged to participate in the Intramural Sports Program.Each house’s vice president will be responsible for assisting the Office of Campus Recreation in promoting and registering teams for both the Commons sporting events and intramural sports.  Registration is completed in the Office of Campus Recreation, located in the Student Recreation Center. If you are interested in assisting with the promotion and registration of teams, please contact your House V.P. and Lucy Deppen at lucydeppen@gmail.com.

Mark Your Calendars for the Wellness Bash
Oct. 30th, from 3 pm – 7 pm
First Floor of the Rec Center

The Wellness Bash is an annual fair-type event held in the Student Recreation Center (SRC). The WRC invites different wellness-related groups and companies to come and demonstrate their services. Some of the services previously involved with the Bash have been Angelic Touch Massage, Vanderbilt Sports Medicine, Vanderbilt Student Health, Margaret Cunningham Women’s Center. There are also lots of giveaways from local companies.

Stop by for an array of wellness based booths from Vanderbilt student organizations and Nashville’s community. Trick-Or-Treat your way through FREE food, giveaways, and massages while expanding your knowledge on all aspects of individual wellness!


Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer

Do you need advice in regards to a sports injury? We offer during the semester months on Tue and Thu our very own Athletic Trainer. The athletic trainer is friendly and one of Vanderbilt’s best in the field. So if you need advice, he/she will be in the Student Recreation Center lounge ready to answer any and all of your questions.

No coverage during Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 17 – 25)


First Aid CertificationCPR/First Aid classes will be offered:

Sun, Oct 14, 2012, 4 – 9 pm

Mon, Nov 12, 2012, 5 -10 pm

Be sure to register as soon as possible. Class size is limited to 15 participants based on first come, first served and will fill up quickly!

Cost: $120 (Payment is due at the time of registration. Please make checks payable to Vanderbilt University.)

To register, stop by the Office of Campus Recreation during office hours, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. For more information call 343-8186. No Phone Reservations. Classes are held in Classroom A & B of the Student Recreation Center.
