New Multipurpose Facility

This project will enhance the existing Student Recreation Center and build a new multipurpose facility to serve the entire Vanderbilt community. With an estimated square footage of over 299,000, the new complex will more than double the size of the current facility. Components of the project include:

  • Field house
  • 120-yard turf field
  • NCAA-standard indoor track
  • Health Plus wellness suite (center, event space, kitchen)
  • Auxiliary gym
  • Event entrance and lobby with two-story atrium
  • Fitness loft
  • Bowling lanes
  • Lifting and weight room
  • Health Plus fitness room with expanded flooring
  • Long jump center
  • Large multipurpose rooms (2)
  • Small multipurpose rooms (4)
  • Squash courts (2)

Additional components may be considered as project funding grows.

The majority of the addition work is being done around the perimeter of the Student Recreation Center. This will allow construction to continue and have minimal impact on the current operation of the Student Recreation Center. The entrance to the recreation center will move to a temporary location at the front of the center.

Please pardon our dust over the next few months as we make these great improvements to YOUR Student Recreation Center and we enter a new era of recreational services.
