Lang-€™s  first  film made in the United States, follows the story of a man who narrowly escapes a lynch mob after being falsely accused of a crime and the revenge he seeks thereafter. Amidst the brewing war tensions raging in Europe during the time of the release of this  film,Lang uses the theme of mob mentality to criticize nationalistic group-think. English.
