Holi 2015

Posted by on Monday, April 6, 2015 in Archives, News.

Holi, the Festival of Color, is back on Vanderbilt-€™s campus! On Saturday, April 11th, 2015 from 1pm – 4pm on Alumni Lawn, join the South Asian Cultural Exchange in celebrating the largest Indian springtime festival with color, music, food and swag!

Holi is traditionally a Hindu festival of color and love, but has spread across Europe and North America as a festival of springtime, life, and energy. To -€œplay-€ Holi, people throw colored powder and water at friends and family with the goal of getting everyone as colored and dirty as possible. What does that mean at Vanderbilt? That means 150 pounds of powder, free music, free sunglasses, free food, and free FUN.

2015 marks the first year that Vanderbilt SACE-€™s Holi  will be on Alumni Lawn, so we expect this to be the biggest, most energetic Holi to date. Bring your friends, wear clothes to get dirty in (preferably white!), and get ready to make memories for a lifetime, learn a bit more about the South Asian culture, and perhaps come away with a new profile picture?
