If you love first-year students and you’re interested in helping the Class of 2020 become members of the Vanderbilt community, consider applying to be a Student VUceptor.

What is VUcept?

VUcept is a peer mentor organization that facilitates the personal and academic growth of first-year students within the living and learning community of The Ingram Commons through CommonVU, Vanderbilt Visions, and beyond.

Who should apply?

VUcept aims to be representative of the larger student body and to represent the diversity of thought and experience within the university.  As such, applicants from all classes and schools are encouraged to apply.  Whether you’ve applied for VUcept before, been a VUceptor before, or this is your first time seeking involvement with VUcept, you’re invited to apply.  If you care about the Class of 2020 and you want to develop personally and professionally, consider applying today.

Why should you apply?

By co-facilitating weekly meetings with a faculty partner, Student VUceptors develop interpersonal, organizational, and discussion facilitation skills.  Being a Student VUceptor gives you the opportunity to interact and collaborate with your faculty partner in an informal setting and serve as a peer mentor for a group of eighteen first-year students.  As a Student VUceptor, you’ll joing a diverse group of students and have the opportunity not only to teach others but to benefit from the knowledge of your first-year students, your faculty partner, and other Student VUceptors.  

How do you apply?

Applications for VUcept 2016 are now live  at  vanderbilt.erezlife.com.  Applications are due by  11:59 pm on Jan. 31st. Select applicants will be offered interviews.
