Oklahoma City, OK - Oklahoma Council on Economic Education

The Oklahoma Council on Economic Education is a non-profit organization focused on promoting economic and financial literacy in the state of Oklahoma. The organization achieves this goal through the instruction of teachers of grades K-12 in basic economic concepts, free enterprise education, and personal financial literacy. This summer, I collaborated with the organization to assist them in enhancing their teaching curriculum for financial literacy. My role with the organization was to create summaries for the Financial Fitness for Life lessons, Better Money Habits videos, and Financial Fitness for Life and Better Money Habits supplemental lessons. I also cross-referenced the lessons and videos to determine which of the 14 State of Oklahoma Passport to Financial Literacy Standards the lessons and videos fulfilled. My work will assist the teachers in knowing which standards each lesson and video fulfills as well as being able to quickly reference what the lesson or video is about in order to maximize use of classroom time.
