Morgan Pinkleton Houston, TX - Urban Harvest

This summer I worked with Urban Harvest, an organization dedicated to educating communities about nutrition and organic agriculture. Urban Harvest facilitates more than 100 community and school gardens, two farmer’s markets, and community classes in Houston, TX. My project was to create a school garden inventory of Urban Harvest’s active school partner sites. Additionally, I was part of the Youth Education Team acting as an Assistant Garden Educator at inner-city schools, helping teach children about ecology, gardening, and nutrition during their summer school programs.
