Children for Change Cambodia (CCC) is a community-based organization that provides educational services and social support to some of Phnom Penh’s poorest youth. Situated in a red-light district, CCC is committed to seeing that these students rise above their circumstances to excel in the classroom and beyond. Social Action is a new initiative at CCC that ultimately aims to empower students to see themselves as leaders capable of influencing positive change in their communities. My summer project at CCC involved piloting a social action curriculum and then creating a teacher’s manual to accompany the curriculum for its future implementation.
