Urvi Patwardhan has enjoyed working with several community organizations in Nashville over the past three years. During her freshman and sophomore years, she worked on various projects with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee regarding the issues of food insecurity and hunger-related need in the Nashville community. The summer following her sophomore year, Urvi completed an Ingram Summer Project at Second Harvest. Urvi has enjoyed working, building relationships, and seeing many of the project plans she worked on implemented at the food bank. In her second year, Urvi continued to work with the Second Harvest and Project CURE, an organization that provides donated medical supplies to healthcare organizations worldwide. As she continued sorting medical supplies at the CURE warehouse each week, in her capacity as the Program Coordinator of the student organization, she also recruited volunteers and helped coordinate weekly trips to work with this organization.

During her sophomore and junior years, Urvi also volunteered with YES (Youth Encouragement Services) Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt SCNO (Students Consulting for Non-Profit Organizations). She served as a tutor for YES Vanderbilt and then helped to manage the student organization that coordinates student tutoring at a local community center. Urvi has worked with teams on yearlong projects to come up with creative marketing strategies for two Nashville-based non- profits. She is excited to continue her work with SCNO as a Senior Project Manager and YES Vanderbilt as Co-President during the upcoming year. Urvi is honored to be a part of the Ingram Scholarship Program and is looking forward to continuing her work in the Vanderbilt and the Nashville communities.
