Ingram Scholar Letters of Reference

The reference site is now open for current Vanderbilt first-year and sophomore students. Click here to register.

Please arrange for two individuals to provide letters of recommendation in support of your application for the Ingram Scholarship Program. You may select anyone from your community who you believe can best address your strength of personal character, commitment to community service, and leadership qualities. Use the online form to enter the name and email of two individuals from whom you would like to request letters of recommendations. An email will be sent to each individual asking for a letter of recommendation.

You should communicate clearly with these individuals about the importance of their recommendations, and allow them sufficient time to complete their recommendations thoroughly.

The deadline for High School Students is December 1, 2011. The deadline for Current Vanderbilt First Year and Sophomores to submit letters of reference is March 1st, 2012.

Success is easily defined in a few words. Merriam-Webster defines success as “the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence.” Most undergraduate students would agree with this definition and when asked twenty years from now how they would deem their lives successful the reply would mention a well-paying job, a nice house, a nice car... Significance, however, is not so easily defined.
