Student Contact InformationYour Phone NumberYour phone number will be included in your housing assignment, which you should receive August 1, or shortly thereafter. Vanderbilt provides individual phone lines to all students living in a campus residence hall room or suite. When you arrive, you should bring a telephone handset to be plugged into the jack labeled with your assigned phone number. Please do not bring 2.4 GHz phones, because they interfere with the campus wireless network. The phone number labeled on the jack is your assigned "dorm" extension for as long as you remain in that space. Caller ID is provided for phones with appropriate Caller ID capabilities. Your Mailing AddressWhen first-year students receive their housing assignments, they will also get their mailbox numbers. Family and friends should address packages and correspondence in the manner illustrated below. Name of Student Your Email AddressWhile you are a student at Vanderbilt, you are expected to use your Vanderbilt email address (see Vanderbilt's email policy). Once you have paid your matriculation fee, you will receive instructions in the mail for creating your VUnetID and password. You will use your VUnetID to sign up for VUmail, Vanderbilt's e-mail system, as well as other on-line services.
