Meet Health and Wellness
Mary Yarbrough, MD, MPH--Dr. Yarbrough is the Director of Health and Wellness at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She has responsibility for faculty and staff services in both the University and Medical Center at Vanderbilt. These services include the Occupational Health Clinic; HEALTH Plus, Vanderbilt's health promotion program; Work/Life Connections-EAP, including Faculty, Physician and Nurse Wellness Programs; and the Child and Family Center. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, Dr. Yarbrough served as the Director of Environmental Epidemiology for the State of Tennessee. She received her B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and her MD from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Yarbrough completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt and in Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She is an Assistant Professor of both Medicine and Preventive Medicine at Vanderbilt, is boarded by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in both Occupational Medicine and Public Health and General Preventive Medicine, is boarded by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a former Luce Scholar. Dr. Yarbrough has served as President of the Tennessee College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and is currently the Tennessee Delegate to the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM). Dr. Yarbrough also serves on ACOEM's Board of Directors. |
Paula McGown, RN, CFNP, CPA, PHR --Paula is the Administrative Officer for Health and Wellness. She is responsible for health and productiviy management, budgetary oversight and position management for the Occupational Health Clinic, Work/Life Connections-EAP, HEALTH Plus, and Child Care. Additionally, she coordinates activities related to the development and implementation of the Occupational Health Information System. Paula has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and a Master of Accountancy from the Massey School of Business at Belmont University. She has been ANCC certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1990 and is licensed as an RN and a CPA in the state of Tennessee. She also holds certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute. |
DeMoyne Culpepper, Computer Systems Analyst II--DeMoyne Culpepper acts as technology consultant and Informatics specialist for Vanderbilt Health and Wellness. She is involved in database administration, system analysis, technology development and training for a variety of Health and Wellness applications. DeMoyne works with the Health and Wellness team and departments to design, create, monitor, make enhancements and upgrades to software systems. She is also involved in the team that will help to deploy the software for the production of the new Occupational Health Information System. DeMoyne is a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse in Informatics/Health Care Management from Vanderbilt University. She has a very diverse professional background in Nursing, Sales and Human Resources (Recruiting).

Willow Price, Administrative Assistant--Willow is the Administrative Assistant to Dr. Mary Yarbrough and Paula McGown. She also serves as an administrative liaison for all areas in Health and Wellness. She has worked at Vanderbilt since 1999. |
Glen Harness, Health & Wellness Information Technology Coordinator -- Although Glen started with Health & Wellness in July 2008, he's been at Vanderbilt since September 1990. Most of those years were spent in the Patient Accounting Department as their Programmer/Analyst and Network Manager, then later with the Deparment of Finance as a desktop support technician. Glen acts as a technology liasion for the four departments that comprise Health and Wellness, is the team leader for the podcast and our internet presence, and assists with database development, and QA evaluations. |
Stacey Kendrick, MS, Coordinator of Health Promotion--Stacey’s role is to oversee the marketing and communication at HEALTH Plus as well as coordinate programs and events for the Vanderbilt faculty and staff that promote health awareness, motivation to participate in healthy lifestyle practices and a culture of wellness. Stacey also is the editor of the HEALTH Plus Connection newsletter, delivers the Making a Difference and Partnering for Health presentations at New Staff Orientation and oversees the Dietetic Internship Program at HEALTH Plus. Prior to working at HEALTH Plus she worked at Vanderbilt’s Kim Dayani Center as a consultant and the YMCA of the Carolinas as a Health Educator. Stacey received her undergraduate business degree from The Rochester Institute of Technology in New York State and her Masters Degree in Health Promotion from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Stacey is a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise and a certified Intrinsic Coach. |
