Yollette Jones is a historian of the African Diaspora experience, with a research emphasis upon race and visual culture. She is currently at work on a book entitled “The Pictures Tell a Different Story: Images of African American Women in the Late Nineteenth Century.” Jones teaches courses on African American history on film and issues of race in American photography.
