Mark Dalhouse is a Lecturer in History and the Director of Vanderbilt’s Office of Active Citizenship and Service. After completing his Ph.D. in modern American political and social history at Miami of Ohio, Mark served as a History faculty member and Student Life Administrator at schools including Truman State University, Washington and Lee University, Miami of Ohio, and the St. Albans School of Public Service in Washington, DC. Mark has written and published on the role of religion in American politics and on civic engagement and college student activism. He has developed a Washington, DC based summer seminar for the History department which draws upon the resources of the Vanderbilt Office of Federal Relations. Mark has also recently been appointed as a Faculty Head of East House in the new Vanderbilt Freshman Residential Commons.
