Robert Cross works on early modern Europe, with a broadly international and transnational approach. His wide range of research interests and teaching experience includes Tudor/Stuart Britain, Habsburg Spain, the Renaissance & Reformation in Europe, the history of political thought, the interaction between politics and religion, comparative empires, revolution, and the Atlantic world. He is currently working on a book and several articles on Anglo-Spanish relations, regime change, and the politics and culture of peacemaking in the early seventeenth century.
