Vanderbilt Hillel Facilities

Shabbat Shalom Vanderbilt

Erev Shabbat services are led by students for students. Wine, challah, and refreshments are served. Services are held in the Ben Schulman Center for Jewish Life, located at the corner of 25th and Vanderbilt Place, just opposite Memorial Gym.

Unless otherwise stated, services are at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30.

This year, thanks to a generous grant from private donors and the National Council of Jewish Women - Nashville Division, we are able to serve a Kosher meat meal following every Shabbat service catered by Goldie Shepard. We welcome anyone to come for Shabbat dinner without coming to services as well.

Holiday Celebrations

Sukkot
Vanderbilt Hillel celebrates Sukkot every year in a campus-wide celebration. Make sure to check out our Sukkah in front of our building!

High Holidays
Hillel holds student-organized, student-led services for both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. This past year, more than 100 students were in attendance for this service and break-the-fast.

Passover Seder
Every year, Vanderbilt Hillel hosts seders on the first two nights of Passover and also provides kosher food for Passover meals throughout the week.
