Shabbat and High Holidays

Shabbat

Erev Shabbat services are led by students for students. Wine, challah, and dinner are served. Services are held in the Ben Schulman Center for Jewish Life, located at the corner of 25th and Vanderbilt Place, just opposite Memorial Gym.

Vanderbilt Hillel is grateful for the support from the Nashville chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women for allowing us to offer Free Shabbat meals to students on Vanderbilt’s campus.

Unless otherwise stated, services are at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30.

High Holidays

Hillel holds student-organized, student-led services for both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. This past year, hundreds of students were in attendance for these services and break-the-fast.

Sukkot

Vanderbilt Hillel celebrates Sukkot every year in a campus-wide celebration. Make sure to check out our Sukkah in front of our building and outside the Commons Center!
