Taglit: Birthright Israel
In 2006, Vanderbilt Hillel hosted a birthright trip for 18 Vanderbilt students. In 2007, we more than doubled our participants and took a full bus of 40 students!
It's not too early to start thinking about 2008! Registration will begin in early February for our May 2008 trip. Please email Jaime if you are interested in participating. It also would be a good idea for you to apply for your passport as soon as possible, even if you are not sure if you want to come or not.
Israeli Dancing
Weekly Israeli Dance Lessons are held in our building for the Nashville community, and students are always welcome. For more information, please visit http://www.vanderbilt.edu/israelidance/ or contact Carol Rubin at carol.rubin@vanderbilt.edu.
Dores for Israel
Dores for Israel is a student organization that seeks to promote a positive image of the State of Israel on the Vanderbilt campus through cultural, educational, and political programming. It is a politically moderate group that advocates for Israel, but ultimately hopes to see a peaceful solution to the complex problems of the Middle East. It is under the Hillel umbrella but is not religiously affiliated. Example programs it has hosted include Hebrew Speakers' Hour, Falafel at Midnight (free Israeli food at 12 midnight), and Run for Israel (benefitting various Israeli charities).
