A recent publication based on case studies of supervision of auxiliary nurses working in health posts in Alta Verapaz, which found that supportive supervisors approach their relationship to the auxiliary nurse through nursing principles of holistic attention to their needs.

Estimados colegas,
The December 2013 Issue of Isis (Vol 104, No 4) includes a Focus section on “Global Currents in National Histories of Science: The ‘Global Turn’ and the History of Science in Latin America” that might be of interest to the group.

it occurs to me I should share with GSNers a piece that just came out in Anthropos. It's called "An Interstitial Maya. The Life, Legacy, and Heresies of Padre Tomás García". Here's a link to the abstract:

http://www.anthropos.eu/anthropos/journal/abstracts/1091/08.php

They've got something of an antiquated electronic publishing model (a 5-year moving wall with JSTOR–I didn't even get a pdf for my own use), but they did send me 30 offprints which I'd be happy to post to anyone who'd like a copy. Just send me an email with your mailing address to james.mackenzie@uleth.ca and I'd be happy to send one along. All for now,

Yours,

Jamie James MacKenzie [james.mackenzie@uleth.ca]
