Joining a Multicultural Greek Organization?

Vanderbilt University is proud to have organizations that offer a cultural-based experience on our campus that celebrate Greek Life and their cultural heritages.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

As the first Latin sorority ever created to cater towards the needs of latinas in the nation, Lambda Theta Alpha recognizes the importance of reaching out to others and forming a united coalition of professional, diverse, culturally and politically aware women. We are not an exclusive group of women and believe that all women alike should be given an opportunity to make their mark on the world. This is our right and our profound legacy.

The main goals of the chapter are to establish working and social relationships with fellow sisters and interested ladies. In this way, fundraising, community service and activism, as well as social efforts, can be a success. We are an organization...a Sisterhood...based on Unity, Love and Respect...and dedicated to the empowerment of minorities and the universal woman through her education, a love of culture, the disenfranchised and her surrounding communities.

Women interested in Lambda Theta Alpha are encouraged to attend LTA events, meet sisters, and become a part of the interest group. LTA has various information sessions throughout the year where women can learn more about the organization. For more information, please contact LTA president, Arielle Maffei at arielle.maffei@vanderbilt.edu.

Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.

Lambda Theta Phi provides the Latino college student the opportunity to be part of a family with a mission. The mission of the Fraternity is to cultivate a spirit of brotherhood, to value an education, to promote unity among all Latinos, to be proud of and cherish our heritage, to assert roles of leadership, to develop character, to practice chivalry, and to serve mankind. In short, to raise the social and cultural conscience of the Latin male college student through:

  • Education/Educación
  • Leadership/Liderazgo
  • Brotherhood/Hermandad
  • Culture/Cultura
  • Latin Unity/"En la unión está la fuerza."

For more information about Lambda Theta Phi and their events, please contact chapter president, Micael Haskins at micael.f.haskins@vanderbilt.edu.
