Great Performances at Vanderbilt offers an impressive selection of art performances from around the globe. We travel quite a bit and it’s thrilling to be in New York, Stockholm or London and be already familiar with local performing groups because of Great Performances. I recommend getting tickets to the series over any tickets in Nashville – Great Performances offers a selection of theater, dance, music and other performance works like no other.
Adrienne Outlaw, Nashville Visual Artist

The diverse offering prepared and offered through Great Performances is hands down the most comprehensive season package offered in Nashville. The experience is like being inside a kaleidoscope of thought provoking wonderment.
Nancy Van Reece, The Brooks Fund Advisory Board

“Performance on the Move,” is an amazing opportunity that juxtaposes internationally recognized artists and what they do in a traditional setting to our working local artist community and environment. These performances are particularly poignant as they happen in Nashville that is at a cultural crossroad. POM events further open the door for more provocative programming.
Lain York, Zeitgeist Art Gallery

Each year, I eagerly await the Great Performances series at Vanderbilt, knowing there will be a wonderful array of choices, ranging from such venerable institutions as Academy of St. Martin in the Fields to genius choreography to the hilarious verbal meanderings of David Sedaris. What riches this series has brought to the middle Tennessee community!
Rebecca Bain, Former WPLN Senior Host/Producer, WPLN Public Radio

What’s truly “great” about Great Performances is that it’s offered me the chance to experience, and be edified by, the work of sophisticated, innovative, internationally important artists. Our cultural life would be senselessly undernourished without this incredibly vital program.
Martin Brady, Dance and Theatre Critic, Nashville SCENE

The Great Performances series schedule rivals that of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. These are truly exceptional events that provide outstanding educational experiences and are great entertainment. The diverse programming offers something for everyone.
Anne Henderson, Director of Education, Frist Center for the Visual Arts

The Jazz in the Great Performances series is music that is always most relevant to our lives. It is the most vibrant music series in middle Tennessee.
Greg Lee, Program Director, WMOT Radio

Of the many reasons why Nashville is a cultural oasis for the arts, the Great Performances series is one of the best.
Mark Wait, Dean Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University

When anyone moves to Nashville I always tell them that by far Great Performances is the best performing arts series in Nashville. Our kids have grown up experiencing it. When our daughter was looking at colleges, the quality of their performing arts series was a major criterion.
