Former Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company member, and recently cited as New York’s greatest talent in the Obama Age, Kyle Abraham intertwines the sensual and provocative in movement – with an emphasis on sound, human behavior and all things visual to personal investigation. Live! The Realest MC draws on the timeless Pinocchio character and his plight to be a “real boy,” set in an industrial dystopia. The piece investigates gender roles and societal perspectives on the quest for acceptance in the world of hip hop celebrity.
