Originally from Chatham, NJ, I grew up a dual citizen of the United States and Brazil. Prior to my undergraduate career, I completed an academic year abroad with the EF International Language School, where I lived in Munich, Germany and Barcelona, Spain. I attended Vanderbilt University as an undergraduate student, where I received my BA in May 2007 with a double major in Spanish and German and a minor in Latin American Studies. I am currently a first year graduate student at Vanderbilt working towards my MA. A particular academic interest of mine is the intersection of German and Latin American cultures, with a focus on 19th century German immigration literature in southern Brazil. Other areas of interest include Greek mythology, Christian apologetics, Latin American Boom literature, and Vanderbilt basketball.
