Tanya joined the department at Vanderbilt in 2009 after earning her M.A. from California State University Long Beach in 2007.
Her research interests include travel narratives at the time of European Encounter with the Americas, immigrant literature in Germany, German immigrant literature in Brazil, and the works of Friedrich Schiller and Alexander von Humboldt. She is working on developing her dissertation around scientific exploration narratives of the Germans to Brazil.
