Johannes Endres
 

Visiting Associate Professor
 

I have broad teaching experience gathered at several North American, German and Eruopean Universities. My most recent affiliations, before coming to Vanderbilt, were with University of California, Irvine (UCI), San Diego State University (SDSU), University of California, Riverside (UCR), and Universität Göttingen/Germany.

My research and teaching focuses on German and European literature and culture in an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective from the Enlightenment to the Romantic period, and to modernity.

My publications cover a wide range of fields, including books and articles on authors such as Abaelard, Walther von der Vogelweide, Shakespeare, Lessing, Schiller, Goethe, Novalis, Kleist, Eichendorff, Sitfter, Mörike, Immermann, Hebbel, Darwin, Richard Wagner, Hofmannsthal, Thomas Mann and Günter Grass.
